General Provisions

The Consular section of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia grants the citizens of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Yemen, Oman and foreign residents living in abovementioned countries visitor, business, tourist, and transit visas. This is the consular area of responsibility of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The types of visas provided by the Consular section could be:

- Ordinary single entry-exit visa (duration of stay from 3 to 90 days)
- Ordinary double entry-exit visa (duration of stay from 3 to 90 days)
- Multiple entry-exit visa (duration of stay up to 1 year)
- Transit single entry (for passing through Azerbaijan to another country one time)
- Transit double entry (for passing through Azerbaijan to another country number of times).

Visa requirements

For obtaining a visa an applicant should provide the Consular section with the following documents:

1. Invitation letter. For obtaining ordinary entry-exit visa this letter could be sent via Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan or directly to the Embassy by fax or e-mail. In this invitation letter addressed to Ambassador, receiving Azerbaijani side should point out the full name, passport data, and desired duration of stay of applicant (coming foreign person), own personal data (address and phone numbers) and attach to it a copy of personal ID. This letter should be duly completed and signed by receiving Azerbaijani side/person. For business or education visa this invitation letter should be sent by concerning business or educational organization on its official note-paper, sealed and signed by plenipotentiary person.

For trips with duration no more one week, tourist and transit visits invitation letter does not required. But, in this case required a copy of round trip tickets (or copy of tickets and hotel reservation).

For tourist visa required confirmation from receiving tourist organization or from a hotel in Azerbaijan. Tourist visa is valid for exact dates of hotel accommodations purchased in advance.

For transit visas required a copy of round trip tickets.

For persons going to Azerbaijan with official visits (ordinary entry-exit visa) invitation should be sent by receiving Azerbaijani government or non-government entity via Consular Department of MFA. The persons going to Azerbaijan with official visits (holders of diplomatic, special, and in some cases ordinary passports) are granted visas free of charges. 

For multiply entry-exit visa an invitation letter must be sent from by receiving side only via Consular Department of the MFA.

2. Duly completed visa application form.

3. Two photo (3-4) for the application form.

4. Original passport. Passport must be valid for at least 6 month prior to the expiry date.

5. Confirmation/ identity letter from work or study place.
     For business entities this letter should be confirmed and sealed by local Chamber
     of Industry and Commerce office or another corresponded government organization.
6. Copy of local ID or foreign residents document (Iqama).

7. Visa fee receipt from the Saudi-Holland Bank, Riyadh (account number: 037092936036).

Notes

All required documents for obtaining a visa could be sent by mail, but it is recommended to consult with the Consular section before.

Visa processing time takes from 3 to 10 days.

Visa fees for Saudi, Yemeni, Omani and Bahraini citizens are:

"        Ordinary single entry-exit visa (3 to 90 days) - $40US dollars. In some cases,
            after introducing proper documentation confirmed granting foreign person
            study in Azerbaijani universities, and going to Azerbaijan first time visa fee  $20US dollars.
"        Ordinary double entry-exit visa (3 to 90 days) - $80US dollars.
"        Multiple entry-exit visa (up to 1 year) - $250US dollars.
"        Transit single entry (if permitted, short period of stay) - $20US dollars
"        Transit double entry (if permitted, short period of stay) - $40US

The Consular section has a right to:

1.        Invite applicant to Consular section for interview and clarification his or her personal data.
2.        Refuse to grant a visa in case of non-corresponding real personal information with the information
            presented by applicant,shortage of required documents and matters connected with national
            security of the Republic of Azerbaijan.In this cases the Consular section is not responsible
            for refunding the consular fees made by applicants beforehand.
